Position

The Electrical Calculation Engineer will perform electromagnetic and thermal calculations for generator design. He/She produces / validates electrical design, dimensioning and customer documentation related to generator electrical topics.

 

Main Duties:

 

The Generator Electrical Calculation Engineer will be responsible for the electromagnetic and cooling design of upgrades and new build Generators. He/she works closely with the Project Engineering Manager, Lead Generator Engineer, Design Engineers in order to get all the information required to meet the functional requirements of the targeted solution.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform generator electromagnetic and cooling calculations to projects and tendering (analytical and finite element calculation).
  • Issue the technical specifications to all partners, suppliers and customer during contract execution.
  • Ensure the delivery of the documents and services on time, at agreed costs, with agreed scope and in the right quality.
  • Take part in electrical type tests and in factory running tests.
  • Response to customer and site technical questions, customer presentations.
  • Technical support of tendering teams, project management in case of questions regarding electrical calculation tasks.
  • Work closely with the other engineering teams in Arabelle Solutions organization and provide support where needed.
  • Communicate with workshop at hand-over and during production phase and provide NCR disposition.
  • Contribute with innovative concept ideas in New Product Introduction (NPI) definition and execution phase.
  • Be open for and propose ideas for continuous improvement in the electrical program and engineering process.
  • Promote teamwork and knowledge sharing in the team.
  • Follow Company policies and guidelines for Nuclear Safety, Environment, Health and Safety, and Product Safety,

  • Electro-magnetic and thermal calculation of generators.
  • Development, maintenance and enhancement of electromagnetic and thermal calculation tools for design, tendering and order execution of generators.
  • Analysis, comments and evaluation of customer specifications.
  • Validate the electrical tests of generator and brushless exciter done in factory.
  • Validate the generator electrical design in tendering and project execution stage.

Profile

 

Required Competences: 


Education:

 

Mandatory (MUST):

 

  • Master degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of electro-magnetic and thermal calculation of generators.
  • Good knowledge of rotating electrical machines, particularly generators.
  • Trained to Nuclear Safety Culture.
  • Trained to ITNS-I/ITNS-A management and NS tagging

 

 

Desirable (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Finite element calculation tools (ANSYS.electrical), Matlab tools….
  • Product data management (RPDM).
  • Good knowledge of Power Plant environment, customers and partners.
  • Good knowledge of internal and international standards.

 

Experience: 

 

Mandatory (MUST)

  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering in the domain of product engineering, service and/or manufacturing. 

 

 

Desirable (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Experience in a similar position.
