Position
Job Description Summary
Overall Target of the Position:
Establish the detailed manufacturing processes of the job utilizing own experience and coordination with lead factories for implementing their best processes and practices. Drive the culture of continuous improvements and take lean initiatives.
Drive and coordinate the execution of Machine Shop operations, machining and assembly processes related to machining wing to wing with (SQDC)Zero deviation in Safety and Quality. Ensure alignment of different stakeholders to achieve OTD & shop Utilization.
Responsibilities:
- Define and finalize the manufacturing process in the form of MOPs & SOPs for every component of Turbine Casing well in advance to the start of production.
- Work out optimum handbook hours & plate requirements in detail for every project.
- Envisage requirement of project tools and tackles required for production and drive procurement for timely availability.
- Preparation of delivery lists for dispatch.
- Validation of MOP Hours and process steps with shop.
- Coordinate and support Shop Planner for project scheduling and outsourcing of process activities ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Identifies & resolves technical issues prior to the start and during the production processes.
- Provide NCR dispositions and coordinate with engineering as applicable and implement corrective actions in future jobs.
- Record the learnings and process improvements and sustain through continuous updation of manufacturing process.
- Usage of various quality and lean tools viz. VSM, PFMEA, 8D and 5S
- Empower and support shop engineers for process change suggestions and implementation.
- Drive new product qualification and prepare related documentation.
- Continuously improve manufacturing process
- Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.

Desired Skill set:
- Excellent process engineering capabilities and analytical skills.
- Thorough knowledge of heavy machining and assembly processes, Know how of steam turbine is beneficial.
- Key machining process – CNC turning, Milling, boring, tooling, Job set up and inspection/quality method.
- Thorough understanding of Engineering Drawings, Standards and Specifications
- Strong EHS & quality focus
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to identify and implement cost reduction strategies based upon process improvements and experience.

Required Qualifications:
- BE/BTech/Diploma in Mechanical /Production min 10 years of relevant experience – min 5-yearcore experience of process/method of heavy machining and assembly.
This is an LPB (Lead Professional Band) role.
