Position

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Intern to join our team at Hinkley Point C (HPC).  As an Intern you will be based at HPC and you will support the Overall Construction Manager (OCM) in the preparation of site activity, the coordination on site and interface with both internal and external partners as well as the execution of subcontractors and partners.

This outstanding opportunity will give you hands-on experience with real-world projects, whilst enabling you to develop professional skills and build your resume all under the Mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop KPI’s and tracking method where needed
  • Follow the efficiency of erection activity: preparation, completion, punch listing, closeout and turnover to commissioning.
  • Involvement in daily and weekly meetings with Site project shareholders.
  • Support OCM in the preparation of the mitigation plans to minimize impacts: NCR, Punch Items, forensic events
  • Assist the Overall Construction Manager on data on overall progress, completed activity, forecast to completion, problem encountered, subcontractor’s performance, EHS report, preparation the quarterly Construction project review.
  • Assist the NCC Manager and the Site Contract Manager when needed.
  • Provide support to Construction department by familiarization of each subcontract
  • Ensure that any required erection documentation is transmitted to each subcontractor
  • Coordinate supplier and STO site visit to follow coordination action, remedial action and erection progress
  • Participate to QC inspection
  • Running with OCM coordination meeting and updating visual management

Profile

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively in a number of formats
  • Logical mindset with strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills in using Office Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

 

Desired skills

  • Previous internship or work experience in the nuclear industry or a related field would be advantageous but not essential
  • Strong interest in the nuclear services industry and a desire to learn and grow in this field.
