We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team as a Turbine Steam Path Mechanical Design Engineer. Within this role you will be responsible for the mechanical design of the various components of Nuclear Steam Turbine in a context of retrofit and new steam turbine design. More specifically, the integration of the moving blades, diaphragms, blade carriers in the Steam Path. You will check and validate 3D drawings in Catia including the parts lists as well as prepare design reviews and reports
You will coordinate studies within the department in order to ensure the continuous improvement of the product proposed to customers including cost reduction and performance review.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with critical technology designers on complex technical issues.
- Ensure the updating of the design standards used by the design office.
- Ensure that manufacturing documents are available on time and are kept up to date in line with on going cross functional projects
- Industrialise the products designed in conjunction with the various factories, and more particularly those involved in the manufacture of blades and diaphragms/blade carriers.
- Support the execution of contracts to solve technical problems and manufacturing nonconformities.
- Follow the New Product Introduction process for the development of new products and participate in the corresponding reviews (design reviews and gate reviews)
- Support Technical offers/tendering teams and projects teams during meetings with clients
- Participate in the deployment of official design tools (P3DM) such as CATIA V5, ENOVIA and RPDM
- Store all technical documentation relating to the execution of R&D in the official Info System database
Profil
Qualifications and Experience
- Mechanical Design Degree or Equivalent demonstrable experience
- Demonstratable experience within a in a mechanical design office ideally designing rotating equipment although other heavy manufactured equipment will be considered.
- Experience in carrying out mechanical studies and calculations
- A good knowledge of manufacturing processes and Non-Destructive Testing would be highly beneficial for this role
- The ability to use Catia V5 or similar design package.
- Fluent in English
