We are delighted to announce that we are seeking 2 Material Engineer Graduates/Interns to join our growing team as part of a 1 year internship. This opportunity could be as part of someone’s degree or masters placement (year in industry) or as someone looking to start their career in Materials Engineering.
This role will be a project based, you will be developing internal resources which will help us in our mission of knowledge mapping and knowledge transfer and ultimately the centralisation of the department’s studies, documents, tests and reports to create a knowledge bank.
You will be responsible for collate and curate the accumulated knowledge of around 60 years into a knowledge bank. You will have ownership and responsibility to create a proposal for the methodology and technology to employ. You will design how the information will be stored and then set about reading, sorting and connect the documents under each area of expertise with support from the wider team as needed.
The database/knowledge bank will be something that out engineers continue to add to in the future. Due to the nature of the documentation we need to ensure that is stored safely and securely but easily accessible should our Engineers need it.
Profil
Qualifications
- You can be studying towards your BEng or Meng in Materials Engineering and be looking for somewhere to complete an industrial placement year.
- You will need to be able to read and understand the documentation, reports, studies in order to categorise/store them.
- You should have excellent IT skills, with a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
