Position

As part of activities, we are looking for a talented Lawyer and export-control expert to  support our business and teams in China on legal expertise ranging from Corporate governance, contract review, compliance to export control as well as any local regulations matters.

 

He/She will report to Arabelle Solutions General Counsel and will be working closely and in coordination with the global Legal team and the business leadership in China.

 

Role & Responsibilities

 

  • In coordination with the global corporate governance lawyer, he/she will provide support on corporate legal matters:
    • Prepare and organize the board, shareholders and supervisors meeting, drafting invitations, managing documentation and responsible for resolutions documents
    • Manage the delegation of power locally
    • Management of requests for official documentation related to the legal entity in China, certifications and legalizations
    • Ensure resolutions and filings for the legal entity in China as well as compliance with local and governmental requirements
    • Run regular Legal research and Legal watch in local corporate law.

 

  • Act as a legal expert locally in China for our branch and activities:
     
    • Support contract reviews and participate in negotiations where Chinese law expertise is required
    • Ensure overall compliance of our activities with local regulations including cross-border data transfer compliance
    • Support and provide guidance in coordination with the legal team for topics related to intellectual property and litigations
    • Provide advice, counsel, and training to business leaders in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to export control, sanctions, and anti-boycott laws locally
    • Advise and counsel business leaders regarding compliance to export procedures/policies, develop corrective deficiencies and/or add new controls for meeting regulatory changes.
    • Monitor and analyze legal changes affecting export requirements and adjust business practices as appropriate.
    • Represent the business to government regulators, as required
    • Ensure effective training, licensing, screening, classification, and other processes are implemented across the local branch

 

Profile

 

  • Master degree or equivalent in business law
  • Fluent in English and Chinese, written and oral
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an in-house lawyer, or lawyer
  • Good interpersonal skills and team spirit;
  • Autonomy and Adaptability
  • Executive communication skills for interaction with senior Arabelle Solutions and customers leaders
  • Ability to interact and influence cross-functional, multicultural teams in an international environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel (mainly in China)
  • Integrity: Uphold and adhere to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decision-making, communications, actions, and interactions with others.
  • Ability to demonstrate good people leadership, influencing and management skills
