Position
Under the responsibility of the Director of New Nuclear Service Region 2, the Project Management Leader is responsible for the success of nuclear projects (steam turbines, OEM & oOEM generators, and automation & controls) in Region 2 and potentially Region 1.
They are responsible for leading a team of project managers tasked with executing contracts and delivering a high level of quality, on time, and at the most efficient cost.
They ensure compliance with KPIs: project sales, cash flow, margins, deadlines, and customer satisfaction.
Improvement projects include all projects requiring project management in addition to outages:
- Upgrades/replacement of existing systems/replacement of critical parts, e.g., turbine rotors, generator rotors, pumps, and motors.
- Material or digital projects with emissions, performance, or flexibility guarantees.
- Projects involving significant changes in operation and/or controls.
- Modifications of Excitation systems, Main Transformers, GCB, IPBs, MCC, & Switchgear.
- Modifications of plant control systems.
The Project Management Leader oversees the entire project management team, including Project Managers and Planners.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Within New Nuclear Services Region 2, you will lead projects as defined by the Steam Power Project Classification and Accountability.
- Validate technical bids in close collaboration with ITO (Inquiry to Order).
- Approve and oversee the implementation of project execution strategies (engineering solutions, supply chain, site strategy) with the overall goal of ensuring project success.
- Define the most efficient execution model for project delivery with local partners and Arabelle Solutions teams.
- Supervise the preparation, submission, and negotiation of change orders/claims during project execution.
- Lead cross-functional and multicultural project teams.
- Develop proactive management strategies for identifying and mitigating risks, as well as seizing opportunities to meet or exceed objectives.
- Ensure process and operational alignment, implementing best practices and leveraging lessons learned.
- Define and monitor tools and processes.
- Ensure proactive support and engagement from the operations team and Region 2 of New Nuclear Services.
- Manage and report the financial status of the project portfolio according to the defined project control operating rhythm.
- Approve project reviews.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (minimum).
- Solid project management experience (10+ years) covering service projects in challenging energy conditions.
- Excellent understanding of project management tools and metrics.
- Ability to manage projects in high-pressure, time-constrained environments.
- Ability to lead cross-functional, multicultural project teams, ensuring on-time delivery, contractual deliverables, and achieving/exceeding margin targets.
- Willingness and ability to travel, mainly across Europe (approximately 30% of the time).
