Position
Job Description Summary:
As the staff manager of sourcing team you will be responsible for leading the direct and indirect sourcing team. Direct sourcing team is responsible for ITO to OTR phase of all direct items & services (items getting dispatched to customer). Indirect sourcing team is responsible for ITO to OTR phase of all indirect items and services required for running the factory. You will be responsible for overall team management, team building, defining training needs, retention & growth, awards and appraisals.
You will be responsible for driving culture of Safety, Quality and Integrity in everything we do and KPIs like spend, NNT, deflation, OTD, vendor recovery, etc.
Your Role:
- Drive culture of Safety, Quality and Integrity with teamwork, ownership and nurture expertize
- Ensure prompt and effective communication with the team (on business developments, learning & experiences, directives, processes, operating plans & yearly priorities and general information)
- Develop lean mindset and culture in the team through daily management, standard work, problem solving, etc.
- Awareness of CFSI requirements and Nuclear Safety Culture
- Ensure compliance to processes, tools, guidelines and business directives
- Overall team management – resource planning, team building, trainings, retention & growth, awards & appraisals
- Able to impart basic trainings on various functional and departmental topics.
- Exhibit leadership behaviors (act with humility, lead with transparency, deliver with focus) to highest standard and inspire the team to do the same.
- Stakeholder management – Plant leadership, functional leaders, global sourcing team, logistics, supplier quality, suppliers, finance team, engineering team, order management team. Align mid to long term strategies with global commodity leaders as per business needs
- Overall supplier management – supplier onboarding, qualification, order execution, performance review, improvement plans, etc
- ITO phase management – providing inputs to costing team during inquiry stage
- OTR phase management – from sending enquiry to placing purchase order to material receipt and ensuring timely payment of suppliers
- Driving KPIs like spend, NNT, deflation, OTD, vendor recovery, PR to PO cycle , etc.
- Face internal and external audits and drive closure of NCs, improvement points if any
- Reporting of KPIs to senior management through Monthly & fortnightly meetings, project financials, material inflow data, budget exercise, etc.
Profile
Basic Qualifications(requirements):
- Degree /Diploma in Engineering
- At-least 12 + years of experience in sourcing/procurement in heavy engineering or project-based manufacturing industries with at-least 2-3 years’ experience of managing teams
- Knowledge of commodities like casting, forgings, fasteners, small mechanical parts, blades, bars, generator parts, copper, insulation, bearings, balance of plant scope.
- Previous knowledge of SAP is preferred.
- Travel – 5% to 10% of the time
- Pro-active, Problem-solving attitude, Networking and communication skills.
- Organizational skills including prioritization and resource deployment.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
This is an SPB (Senior Professional Band) role.
