Roles and Responsibilities
- Reviewing suppliers NDT procedures and provide associated comments to ensure full compliance with applicable requirements. Explain the comments to the suppliers in order to obtain validated documentation as per project’s needs.
- Coach and technically guide suppliers for right first-time submission of NDT documents.
- Providing technical expertise/consulting to support Project team and the associated product lines: F2F, BoP/MSD, HEX, Pumps, A&C, Services, Naval.
- Communicate within his/her technical domain both internally and externally (to customers, and suppliers, local authorities, normative entities) as required to support the business objectives.
- Technical mentoring and training to develop the organizations expertise, including inspiring and motivating our Quality & Engineering community.
- Support technical assessment (experience and capability), qualification and development of NDT activities of the suppliers.
- Audit NDT activities at external suppliers.
- Guide, qualify and audit external service providers of NDT witness inspections, documentation review and approval, and NDT countercheck.
- Develop or revise new NDT specifications as required.
- Develop best working practices in collaboration with the rest of Steam Power NDT Community.
- Communicate with suppliers and customers as required to support the business objectives.
- Ensure to eliminate non-values added process and respect the quality levels expected by the customer
- Participate in RCA’s as technical resource and lead
- Drive lessons learnt across the organization.
- Partner with manufacturing facilities to ensure technical specification aligns with manufacturing needs
- Coach peers within quality teams
- Provide trainings
- Ensure Return of Experience is tracked and updated regularly
Profil
Required Qualifications & Skills
- For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Quality & QC Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master’s degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
- Master degree, engineer diploma or equivalent
- Level 2 Certification in one or more NDT methods: UT, MT, PT, VT, RT according to EN ISO 9712.
- More than 2 years career in Power Generation Industry (preferably Nuclear) manufacturing, quality control or assurance, sourcing and / or engineering.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, casting, forging, machining).
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and (preferably) French language.
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- Aptitude to create and deliver reports for review by key stakeholders.
- Decision maker with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel for supplier and customer meetings (up to 20%).
Desired Characteristics
- Level 3 Certification in UT, MT, PT, VT or RT according to EN ISO 9712.
- Good knowledge of the specific quality requirements related to NDT on nuclear projects.
- Proven experience within nuclear business
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems (8D, FMEA and other related quality methodologies)
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects and define / delegate /coordinate mission based tasks.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
