Position

Job Description Summary:

Drive and coordinate the execution of lifting operations across the Sanand factory with Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost (SQDC). Preparation of detailed lifting Plan of components for normal and critical lifts with thorough risk assessment in line with EHS Framework and LSPs.

 

Your Role:

 

  • Ensure all lifting operations are properly planned and formal documented risk assessment is undertaken.
  • Establish In depth lifting plan considering lifting methodology, hazards and control, Centre of gravity, size, shape, weight and type of components and Weather condition.
  • Knowledge of method used for slinging, attaching, and detaching the load with lifting points on load.
  • Maintain and update Skill Matrix/competency of all crane operator along with their development plan and regular assessment.
  • Supervise the ongoing lifting operations to ensure safety lifting and periodically review all lifting plans and risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of Safe working load (SWL), Signals, slinging, Anchored loads, Unstable loads, winches, routine, and non-Routine lifting activities
  • Thorough understanding technical knowledge of overhead cranes and mobile cranes and basic requirement of maintenance checks
  • Knowledge of general guidance for all cranes and hoist operation of before, during and after lift
  • Define and finalize the lifting process in the form of lifting plan for every component well in advance to the start of lifting.
  • Carry out weekly checks of any rigging/Lifting equipment and ensure all lifting equipment and accessories have valid test and through examination records.
  • Record the learnings and process improvements and sustain through continuous updating of lifting operations and material handling.
  • Empower and support shop engineers and crane operators for any suggestions and implementation.
  • Uses technical experience and data centric thinking for continuously improve lifting process.
  • Provide Lifting Operation Trainings to operator on yearly basis for Overhead Crane, forklift operation, Stacker Operation and Aerial Lifts.
  • Quarterly inspection of Lifting tools and yearly third-party inspection of Lifting tools.
  • Conduct LSP Audits and Internal Audits for Lifting Operations.
  • Training and competency checking of Crane, Boom lift, stacker, and forklift operators.
  • Cross-Skilling and developing new operator for Material Handling Equipment’s..
  • Preparing Lifting plans, work instruction for all kind of lifts.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at conclusion.
  • Understanding of nuclear safety culture and ITNS-I & A (Important To Nuclear Safety- Item & Activity) &
  • driving the nuclear safety culture at floor
  • Awareness of CFSI (Counterfeiting Fraudulent Suspect Items) and ITNS-I(Importance to nuclear Safety) & ensuring the nuclear culture with team members.

Profile

Basic Qualifications(requirements):

 

  • BE/BTech/Diploma in Mechanical/Production with 8-10 years of relevant experience

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Excellent lifting process engineering capabilities and analytical skills.
  • Thorough lifting and tilting related knowledge of various heavy components lifting in Machine shop, Generator shop, fabrication shop and warehouse.
  • Thorough understanding of Engineering Drawings, Standards and Specifications
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Lifting accessories like marking and identification, Hooks, slings, shackles, Collared eyebolts, spreader, and equalizer beams.
