Position

Planning of available Factory resources (Man, Machine, Space etc..) mainly Machine Shop, Blade Shop and Assembly activities and coordinate & expedite the flow of materials with CFT (Cross Function Team) and within department also according to project & production schedules. Preparation schedule of material & production as per project requirements. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work if the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). Cost tracking and timely communication/ escalation with customer as well as internal stack holders if any.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare & manage Monthly, Daily Shop Planning (Machine + Assembly) with reference to project schedule and need.
  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan and Organization & departmental KPIs.
  • Focus & drive actions to meet the defined KPIs.
  • Along with delivering on operations / business goals/KPI’s, role includes incorporating best planning practices and tools (MTA/PMx, scheduling/MRP planning etc.) and work with Sanand broader team for benchmarking and rolling out of those practices/tools.
  • Prompt and effective communication with the team, cross functional stake holders
  • Ensure compliances to processes, tools, guidelines, and business directives.
  • Strong team player with ability to prioritize in matrix organization keeping customer centric approach.
  • Trouble shooting and support own function and cross functional teams to solve complex problems.
  • Provide 100% materials visibility and progress tracking across the factory for turbine shop (this includes direct material, consumables/indirect materials and tracking of processes/tools/programs readiness) to avoid last minute surprises.
  • Work cross-functionally with factory operations team (Engineering, shop operations, MMI, Process, quality, supply chain, programming/tooling etc.) for project execution.
  • Actively participate in daily management of factory operations (DMS) for respective area of responsibilities and raise flags/drive actions to meeting SQDCM.
  • Lead resource (manpower, machine, space & others) planning and de-bottlenecking and drive utilization of resources. Also work with master scheduler/ central planner to anticipate the capacity/capability constraints coming up in near to medium term.
  • Work on consolidation and reporting of hours / project cost on weekly/monthly basis and drive actions to meet targets through DMS and weekly/monthly operating rigor.
  • Actively work on inventory management for factory and drive inventory reduction actions with all stakeholders
  • Take initiatives and propose cost reductions, lead time reduction and actively participate in lean/kaizen events across factories.
  • Along with delivering on operations / business goals/KPI’s, role includes incorporating best planning practices and tools (MTA/PMx, scheduling/MRP planning etc.) used in other global operations factory locations (Belfort/Beijing etc.) and work with Sanand broader team for benchmarking and rolling out of those practices/tools.
  • Uses some judgment and ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
  • Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Input for Rev-rec and improvise on Inventory Turn for factory and drive inventory reduction actions with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and drive Daily/weekly/monthly SQDC rigor with lean approach.

Profile

Required Qualifications

 

  • This role requires 3 to 8 years of experience in Manufacturing & Materials Planning and Execution (Shop/ Production Planning/ PPC), preferably in heavy Engineering / Project industry).
  • Knowledge level is comparable to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience)
  • Skilled over advance excel, MS Projects/Primavera/SAP, Macro writing, use of BI Tools (e.g. Tableau etc.) Good command over MS Office/Power point.
  • Knowledge on different technologies, manufacturing process and products for Steam/Hydro/Nuclear Turbine and Generator
  • Strong and excellent skill of English conversation. (Written and spoken communication)
