Position
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be part of the Service Centre in Rugby and you will provide manufacturing assistance to the factory for active projects, development, and method enhancements. This includes task such as obtaining price quotes, collaborating with other departments, and supporting improvement initiatives aligned with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop CNC programs for Steam and Generator products, focusing on reducing lead times and costs through process optimization and enhancing machine capabilities.
- Evaluate tooling requirements for projects, drive productivity improvements and method changes to provide solutions to tooling issues, collaborating closely with suppliers on advanced techniques.
- Support project /meeting groups with technical advice as and when required.
- Support tendering for Steam and Generator products using engineering drawings to establish specifications, enabling competitive quotes to be delivered including all quality requirements.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing improvement projects within the department, targeting productivity, process enhancements, and quality objectives.
Profile
Required Skills and Experience:
- Engineering qualification at HNC level or completed Engineering apprenticeship.
- Solid understanding of machining processes with previous CNC programming experience.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and interpreting design drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with excellent time management skills.
- Proven teamwork capabilities with strong communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Commitment to meeting delivery milestones and ensuring adherence to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) requirements.
Desired Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Catia, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Smart CAM-Advanced Mill, Tru Tops, Vericut.
