Job Description Summary

Lead Central Planning operations for Sanand factory with end-to-end responsibilities from ITO to OTR including supply chain planning. Lead to plan resources, coordinate and expedite the project / factory operations planning with full alignment with supply chain for ITO & OTR. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). Cost tracking and timely communication with customer as well as internal stake holders.

 

Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prompt and effective communication with the team, cross functional stake holders
  • Ensure compliances to processes, tools, guidelines, and business directives
  • Strong team player with ability to prioritize in matrix organization keeping customer centric approach
  • Trouble shooting and support own function and cross functional teams to solve complex problems.
  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update Mid Term & Long-term schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
  • Preparation of ITO Schedules and slot confirmation based on backlog and forecasted projects and alignment with global demand-forecast team and S&OP team to have better long-term visibility for plant loading.
  • Preparation & analysis of different scenario based on backlog and forecast project to have a proposal to management for Make Or Buy and long term / strategic decision for any major investment / upgradation of facility to cater requirement of future opportunities.
  • Prepare & participate monthly S&OP review with global team and sense the business need and give heads up to management.
  • Drive Monthly operating rigor for Sanand and manage medium to long term action of demand-supply plan.
  • Prepare an Executive summary on monthly basis and present to management wrt last month changes and highlights.
  • Close coordination with Operation Planning, Order Management, ITO, Manufacturing & Sourcing team.
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Provide 100% materials visibility and progress tracking across the factory including services projects (this includes direct material, consumables/indirect materials and tracking of processes/tools/programs readiness)
  • Along with delivering on operations / business goals/KPI’s, role includes incorporating best planning practices and tools (MTA/PMx, scheduling/MRP planning etc.) used in other global operations factory and work with Sanand broader team for benchmarking and rolling out of those practices/tools.
  • Understand the concepts, methods and procedures of Sanand operations and upgrade/optimize it to enable smoother project execution.
  • Take initiatives and propose cost reductions, lead time reduction and actively participate in lean/kaizen events across factory.
  • Manager customer (internal / external) and supplier relationships in best interest of organization
  • Actively participate in daily management of factory operations (DMS) for respective area of responsibilities and raise flags/drive actions to meeting SQDCM.
  • Closely work with Operation Planners to give heads up on utilization of resource (manpower, machine, space & others) and anticipation of the capacity/capability constraints coming up in near to medium and long term.
  • Work on consolidation and reporting of hours / project cost on weekly/monthly basis and drive actions to meet targets through DMS and weekly/monthly operating rigor
  • Revrec and Inventory management process standardization for factory and drive inventory reduction actions with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and drive Daily/weekly/monthly SQDC rigor with lean approach.

Profile

Required Qualifications:

  • This role requires 8+ years of experience in Capacity / Demand Forecast planning / Operation Planning/ Master scheduling & execution (preferably in heavy Engineering / Project industry).
  • Knowledge level is comparable to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience)
  • Skilled over advance excel, MS Projects/Primavera/SAP, Macro writing, use of BI Tools (e.g. Tableau etc.) Good command over MS Office/Power point.

  • Implement Lean Practices in Central planning
  • Highlight bottlenecks and anticipation risks in advance to define mitigation actions
  • Focus and monthly rigor on Rev-Rec & Inventory Management
  • Ensure compliance to EHS & Quality Processes.
  • Ensure ethical behaviour within the team.

Good Presentation preparation skill along with Project Management fundamentals.

Wide range of complex thinking. Knowledge of Steam turbines and Generators manufacturing process.
