Position

Leads, as part of the project management team, the commercial and contractual aspects of large and complex nuclear plant projects through all phases of design, procurement and construction according to project contractual requirements pursuing commercial, financial and scheduling targets.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Advise sales and legal on the commercial and contractual aspects of the tendering activities for the allocated project and provide the commercial execution strategy for execution, with a focus on the structure of the contract and its executability
  • Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of the project in execution to achieve the project goals and objectives
  • Establish Project Commercial Execution Plan and Project Variation/Claim/Insurance Strategy
  • Provide notices to Customers, Consortium Partners and Insurances in consultation with PD
  • Coordinate the Project team (and particularly planning, financial controlling and engineering) to achieve and further improve the margin
  • Perform risks and opportunities management
  • Develop and maintain commercial relationships with clients, partners and main subcontractors/vendors to ensure smooth operation of project and smooth dispute resolution,
  • Define and implement most effective notification and claim strategies towards clients, partners, subcontractors, vendors and insurers
  • Coordinate with contract management and legal in the preparation of such claims
  • Perform negotiations with clients, partners and/or subcontractors, vendors and insurers
  • Own the commercial project execution processes and tools such as the project commercial plan and the claims and variation order tool
  • Capture return of experience and best practices on commercial issues

Consortium Agreement Management (if applicable)

  • Managing the commercial aspects of the consortium agreement
  • Ensuring that Arabelle Solutions rights under the consortium agreement are enforced
  • Maintaining a cooperative relationship with the consortium partner
  • Leading all project based correspondence with the consortium partner
  • Claim Management with the consortium partner

Profile

Education, Know-how & Experience :

Mandatory (MUST)

  • High degree in Engineering, Economics, Law or Business Administration
  • 10 years of experience in the Nuclear industry with at least 5 years of experience in contract management, project management or legal for large/complex projects.
  • 5 years of experience with Russian customers
  • Good commercial knowledge for assessing business risks and opportunities to undertake commercial negotiations
  • Good knowledge of project contracts and contract law
  • Good knowledge of claims management

 

Desirable (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Project Management education and professional registration would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of Arabelle Solutions plant characteristics (fossil fuel-fired power plants, and/or conventional islands of nuclear power plants)
  • Insightful, able to collaborate with other business team members in developing strategies and implementing business plans
  • Broad commercial knowledge covering multiple disciplines
  • Strong planning skills and knowledge of cost control principles
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Strong in building relationships with clients, suppliers and contractors
  • Open to criticism, able to handle conflicts
  • Cultural awareness and team player
  • Excellent computer skills in using MS-Windows and Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Language Skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and working knowledge of at least one other language.
  • Knowledge in written and spoken Russian.
  • Understand and speaks French
